The incident took place around 12:40 a.m., Monday, Feb. 24, at 100 Carleton Avenue in East Islip, said the Suffolk County Police.
Conrad Levesque, of Central Islip, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche on Union Boulevard when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a vacant commercial building, police said.
Levesque was transported to South Side Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries.
The Town of Islip building inspector was called to the scene to assess structural damage to the building.
Levesque was charged with DWI.
